This restaurant was an incredible find! The food was full of flavor and was presented well. The waitress was very prompt and welcoming to our group of four. We honestly felt like we were eating in someone's home as the atmosphere was warm and inviting. We each ordered a different entree and all four were delicious. We will definitely visit this lovely restaurant again!

One of our favorite places in Rome. There is no menu because the waitress recites everything from memory. The food is very good and very traditional. I love their lasagna and they breaded chicken.
The restaurant is very small, so they will make you sit with other people. But don't worry, you'll bond over the food. I met a woman here from Milan, who has been coming to this restaurant for 20 years!
Side Note: Make sure to get to the restaurant early because the wait is usually very long! -

I really enjoyed this small, intimate restaurant. We were in search of a non-touristy place. This place had all the signs of authentic:
1. No guy standing out front pulling people inside (this is so annoying and a lot of restaurants do this unfortunately).
2. The menu in the window was in Italian (no English at all!!) and the menu was also very short and simple.
3. They don't even have menus for the tables. They just tell you what food they have.
4. Appears to have many locals eating there (Many people speaking in Italian).
I ordered one of my favorite dishes- eggplant Parmesan. I was highly excited to hear it was a dish they make! It was super fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at this restaurant. Dishes are served with white crusty bread. There was only one waitress for the whole place, she did great!Everything was great, I would love to come back! -

This is probably our most favorite restaurant in Rome. A visit to Rome would not be complete without eating at Alfredo e Ada. We have been coming here for years. This is a very small and intimate restaurant. There are only 6 tables. They do not take reservations except for parties of 6 or more. You sit wherever there is an open spot (usually sharing a table with others). They are closed on Sunday and Monday. There is no printed menu. Actually, there is a "generic" menu posted on the door.
Chiara is the granddaughter of Alfredo and Ada. She runs the restaurant and does an exceptional job. She will come to your table and tell you what they have for that day. There are usually 4 to 5 first and second course offerings along with several vegetable offerings. They have only their own white and red wine. They do not have coffee or desserts, and they only accept cash.
We came here 3 times on this trip to Rome. On our first visit we came for dinner. We had the penne carbonara and zuppa di ceci (chickpea soup) for our first course. Our second course was involtini alla Romana (rolled beef stuffed with vegetables) and coda alla Vaccinara (oxtail). We enjoyed a 1/2 liter each of red and white wine, and water. To finish the meal, Chiara always brings cookies that you can dip in your wine - perfect ending. Everything was delicious and filling. Our total bill for all of this was € 42.
On our second visit, we went back for lunch. This time we enjoyed the lasagna ragu (meat sauce) and I had to have coda alla vaccinara again. I find the coda really delicious and different. We also had a mixed green salad and roasted potatoes along with 1/2 liter of house white wine and water. Of course, Chiara gave us cookies for dessert. Our total bill this time was only € 30.
Our third visit was with 6 friends from Rome. I made a reservation for the 8 of us and Chiara had our table waiting for us. We had a blast! Chiara always takes good care of each and every customer. My husband and I each savored the penne carbonara. Then, we moved on to a veal stew with potatoes and veal slices with lemon. For a side dish, we enjoyed artichokes. There was plenty of water and wine going around. We split the check and our portion was only € 40. Everyone really liked the restaurant and the food. Thank you Chiara for another great meal at a very reasonable price. We will see you on our next trip to Rome. -

Small Family Style Roman Place. Had the Oxtail Stew and a Pasta with half carafe of Red Wine.
Best Meal in Rome and very reasonably priced.
Tried more expensive places and regretted not returning here. Great personal service also.
